John fell in love with the sea at a young age while living on the North Shore of Oahu where he enjoyed beach combing and snorkeling. Since then, life has taken him to Santa Cruz, Monterey, LA, Friday Harbor and Madison Avenue. After time as a surfer and art student at Art Center, to a stint as a Navy pilot and a thirty-five year career in advertising , Holm returned to Seattle. His early coastal memories became the images that were reborn in the form of acrylic paintings displayed in this gallery. John also creates the reclaimed wood frames that compliment the beach themes.
